FAQ

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General

How much does custom furniture cost?

Pricing for custom furniture is always prepared individually. The final price is influenced by many factors, including the type of materials used — for kitchen furniture as well as countertops, wardrobes, or chests of drawers — the range of solutions applied, and the scope of additional accessories. It's difficult to give a single, definitive price for custom furniture — the tastes, expectations, and needs of future owners vary widely, and our projects and their pricing vary accordingly. The calculation may include several pricing variants, from which you choose the one closest to your preferences.

What does a preliminary furniture quote involve?

To prepare a preliminary furniture quote, we need the room dimensions, a description of the chosen materials and accessories, and information about your individual preferences and expectations. The quote is free of charge. To ensure the most accurate calculation of the built-in furniture, we encourage you to visit our company.

How long does it take to receive the furniture after placing an order?

Furniture installation typically begins on average 50 business days after the contract is signed. The waiting time largely depends on the type of project and the materials chosen.

How long does it take to prepare a custom design?

Design preparation usually takes about 7 days from the moment the room measurements are taken. Unusual dimensions or a high degree of design complexity may extend this process slightly. In such cases, additional meetings at the TOCE showroom may be necessary, where — over a cup of aromatic coffee — we'll work out the project details together.

Do you provide quotes based on a ready-made design?

Yes, we also prepare quotes based on ready-made designs. To develop the most accurate calculation possible, the finished design should include a visualization and the room dimensions. Additionally, we'll help you select materials and drawer/cabinet fitting systems so that everything is perfectly matched to your needs and expectations.

What kind of custom furniture do you make?

Our production and technological capabilities allow us to carry out even the most demanding projects and furnish a wide variety of spaces. We design and build custom furniture for kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, dressing rooms, bathrooms, and public spaces such as restaurants, showrooms, schools, hotels, and auditoriums.

How can I get in touch to have an individual furniture design made?

We invite you to contact us by phone or, our most recommended option, to visit our TOCE company in person. We look forward to seeing you!

Kitchens

Kitchen design and visualization – why are they so important?

Creating a precise custom kitchen design brings many benefits. Planning and designing a new space is far more organized than simply buying ready-made cabinetry. TOCE's experts estimate the kitchen's price by analyzing all the information about the planned room. A thorough interview with the client about their needs and priorities allows us to create a kitchen that precisely matches their expectations. The kitchen design visualization, as the next stage of space planning, helps you see how the various elements will look before construction begins. A realistic visualization ensures the final result matches the original vision.

Custom kitchens – what determines the price?

The price of a kitchen furniture set depends on many factors, such as: the type of materials used, the range of solutions chosen, cabinet opening systems, drawer and cabinet fittings (e.g. cutlery inserts, selectors, cargo baskets, organizers), and additional accessories like lighting or rails. With every project, our priority is always to optimize the price and tailor it to your expectations.

What are the advantages of an individual custom kitchen design?

In our view, no ready-made solution can match a personalized custom kitchen design. Here are some of the advantages of individual solutions:
• Optimal use of space: an unusual room shape or limited floor area can only be optimally utilized through an individual approach from the designer.
• An investment for years to come: the quality of materials used in TOCE kitchens allows for many years of use. The cabinetry is resistant to damage and the passage of time.
• Aesthetic cabinetry: a custom kitchen is a direct response to your needs. A personalized design makes it easier to create your dream space in a one-of-a-kind style.
• Ergonomics: kitchens designed by TOCE are tailored for comfortable work across different work zones.
• Comprehensive modernization: a kitchen renovation is more than just buying and installing new furniture. It also involves replacing or adapting existing installations, such as electrical or plumbing systems.
Purchasing appliances and installing new wall and floor materials are further considerations included in a custom kitchen design. Thanks to this comprehensive approach, no aspect of the room's modernization is overlooked.

What should you avoid when designing a small kitchen?

It's worth avoiding certain design elements to prevent an overwhelming effect. These include:
• Open shelving – a few small open shelves are acceptable, but large open shelves don't work well in small kitchens. They're hard to keep tidy, and too many items can make the kitchen look cluttered.
• Excessive decoration – while a beautiful kitchen is many people's dream, too much decoration in a small room can look bad. It's better to choose 2-3 accents that subtly highlight the interior's unique character.
• Heavy-looking furniture – some furniture can appear heavy, which isn't ideal in a small kitchen. Try to avoid models with milled fronts and those with lots of decorative elements.
• Unused space – in a small kitchen, every bit of space must be used to its fullest. Practical, functional solutions are the key to success.

If you want to make the most of your kitchen's potential, it's worth turning to expert advice. At TOCE, we're happy to recommend the best solutions so your kitchen becomes the whole family's favorite gathering place.

Bathrooms

What materials are bathroom furniture made from?

We make bathroom furniture from the highest quality materials that are durable and moisture-resistant. We most often use engineered wood boards, such as:
• Lacquered MDF
• Acrylic MDF
• Countertops – laminated, stone, and mineral-acrylic
• Laminated board

Bathroom furniture – which material works best in this room?

Cabinets and shelves in the bathroom are especially exposed to moisture and water. During a hot shower or bath, steam settles on surfaces, and a stream of water can accidentally reach the furniture.

Bathroom furniture also often comes into direct contact with soap, bath products, and cosmetics. That's why it must be made from a material that is durable, doesn't swell, doesn't warp, and is easy to keep clean.

At TOCE, we create durable, exclusive, and functional bathroom cabinets that will serve you for years. Our designs harmoniously blend traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, allowing us to create an elegant, cohesive composition perfect for interiors in any style.

What finishing options are available for bathroom furniture?

The finish of bathroom furniture is key to its durability and appearance. For MDF boards, several finishing options are available:
• Acrylic: stiffens the board, ideal for small, windowless bathrooms since it visually enlarges the space and provides moisture resistance.
• Lacquer: with a hardener, protects the furniture against moisture penetration and is resistant to temperature changes, providing an elegant finish and good protection.
• Laminate: excellently mimics various types of wood, appealing for its wide range of patterns and colors, high resistance to moisture and damage, and affordable price — a very practical choice for bathroom furniture.

Why is it worth choosing custom bathroom furniture?

We believe bathroom furniture should combine durability, aesthetics, and functionality. Custom-made furniture is the best choice, as it can be perfectly tailored to the requirements of a specific room.

We'll prepare a complete set of cabinets for you, equipped with quiet, ergonomic opening systems, as well as shelves and other furniture that will make everyday use of the bathroom convenient and comfortable.

In our designs, we combine modern technology with classic design, drawing inspiration from both nature and contemporary trends.

Our bathroom furniture also stands out for its distinctive design. We largely base our work on your guidance, but we also offer our own original solutions that work beautifully in modern interiors.

Cabinetry / Wardrobes / Dressing Rooms

How to choose the perfect wardrobe? What should you pay attention to?

A large wardrobe is the perfect place to store items of various sizes, textures, and shapes, helping you stay organized and make better use of space. When choosing a wardrobe, it's worth paying attention to the following criteria:
• Room dimensions: the wardrobe should be perfectly matched to the room's dimensions. A piece of furniture spanning the full height of the wall allows for optimal use of space and can conceal clever solutions such as pull-out shelves, clothing rails, accessory organizers, and built-in lighting.
• Type of room: at TOCE, we make sure the wardrobe's construction and style are matched to the type of room. Wardrobes are typically installed in bedrooms, dressing rooms, hallways, or living rooms, and each of these spaces has different requirements in terms of ergonomics and functionality.
• Number of household members: the size of the wardrobe depends not only on the room's dimensions but also on the number of people living there. The more people in the household, the more storage space will be needed.
• Functionality: a good wardrobe is, above all, functional — meaning the shelves and drawers have the right height, width, and depth so that folded clothes don't get wrinkled.
• Material: wardrobes with glazed fronts in aluminum frames — featuring graphite, transparent, or mirrored glass — are currently very popular.

Which bedroom wardrobe is best?

Built-in or freestanding? Sliding doors or hinged doors? A large, spacious wardrobe is a key element of bedroom furnishing. It should harmonize with the room's décor while providing easy access to all drawers, shelves, and compartments.

More and more of our clients are choosing built-in wardrobes with hinged doors, though sliding doors remain a classic that never goes out of style. The choice is entirely up to your preferences. Practical corner wardrobes can also be an excellent addition to the arrangement.

Which wardrobe should you choose for your bedroom to enjoy comfort and convenience for years to come?

• Built-in wardrobes with sliding doors
These have fronts that move along runners instead of opening outward. They're practical in rooms with limited space, since they don't require extra room for the doors to swing open. The sliding mechanism can be made of aluminum, steel, or plastic, ensuring smooth, quiet operation. Sliding-door wardrobes are available in various finishing styles and can be tailored to individual users' needs.

• Built-in wardrobes with hinged doors
This solution is ideal for larger rooms — especially those decorated in a classic or eclectic style. They lend interiors a refined, more traditional, elegant look that suits many arrangements where detail matters, such as fittings or handles. In some cases, classic doors can simply be more convenient for everyday use than sliding systems. An equally important advantage is how easily the fronts can be adapted if, after some time, you decide to change the room's décor.

• Corner wardrobes
Installed in the corner of a room, these are a practical solution that allows for efficient use of space. Despite taking up little room, this type of wardrobe offers plenty of storage capacity for clothing, footwear, and everyday household items. Corner wardrobes work great in children's and teenagers' bedrooms, and anywhere several differently shaped and sized pieces of furniture need to fit into a small area.

Built-ins for sloped ceilings, under stairs, and in attics — how to make use of "impractical" spaces?

Built-ins for sloped ceilings (both under stairs and in attics) are the optimal solution for making full use of hard-to-arrange spaces. With TOCE custom furniture, awkward alcoves and nooks can be transformed into functional storage spaces, wardrobes, shelving units… even a spot for your pet.

Under-stairs built-ins
The space under the stairs, often overlooked, offers great potential. A storage unit, closet, or wardrobe placed there can hold cleaning supplies, tools, preserves, or seasonal clothing. Sliding or classic doors can neatly conceal the contents.
If the stairs are located near the entrance, this is an ideal spot for a mudroom-style closet, with shelves for shoes and hooks for coats.
The space under the stairs can also be arranged as a comfortable bed for a dog or cat — partly enclosed, partly open.

Attic built-ins
Sloped attic ceilings require flexible solutions that make use of the room's varying height. TOCE's custom furniture offering includes wardrobe and dressing room solutions tailored to individual needs, allowing you to make the most of the available space.

Another solution — for the lowest sections, up to about half a meter high — is to use shallow, low cabinets or open shelves for books, decorations, or rarely used items.
In the taller parts of the sloped ceiling, open shelving units can be used to give the space a lighter feel and make stored items easier to access.

When designing furniture, we also recommend appropriate lighting, which is key to illuminating low, dark corners, making them more functional and visually appealing.
